Why Inpages Membership Starts at $1 a Year
Why does Inpages cost $1 a year? Learn how a small yearly membership keeps private journaling accessible to more people while discouraging disposable accounts.
Inpages.me starts at $1 a year because a private place to write should be within reach for almost anyone. The small yearly payment is not meant to turn a basic journal into an expensive subscription. It adds a little care at the door, helping discourage disposable and automated accounts while leaving the writing experience open to people who genuinely want it.
We want the first question to be simple: would you like a quiet place to keep your own pages? If the answer is yes, the price should not make that decision heavy.
The $1 membership is a small sign of intent, not the price of your memories.
Why not make it completely free?
A free account can be created without much thought. That is helpful for trying many products, but it can also invite large numbers of temporary or automated accounts. Each account still needs storage, backups, email delivery, security work, and support.
Inpages is built by an independent maker. It has no advertising and does not sell personal data. A small payment gives every new account a real membership while keeping the price close to free. It will not stop every form of abuse, so Inpages also uses normal safeguards around sign-up and uploads. The payment is one gentle layer, not the whole answer.
What the $1 yearly membership includes
Essential is a complete place to begin writing. It includes one private Journal, unlimited Memories, one Photo Book, reminders, background audio, and images within the plan limit. You can also add extra protection to private Memories and save a Recovery Key for them.
The aim is not to offer an empty account and charge for every useful action. One Journal can hold years of ordinary days, turning points, photographs, questions, and details that would otherwise disappear.

Why Premium costs $39 a year
Some people want one lasting notebook. Others want a larger archive for different parts of life. Premium is for the second group: it removes the limits on Journals, Photo Books, reminders, and background audio, allows larger images, and includes Premium additions as they become available.
The two prices serve different purposes. Essential keeps the door open. Premium helps sustain the larger accounts and continued work behind Inpages. Choosing Essential is not a lesser commitment to writing; it is simply a smaller space.
Clear yearly billing
Essential is billed at $1 once a year. Premium is billed at $39 once a year. Both renew yearly until you cancel renewal. When you cancel, your paid access continues through the end of the current billing period. Applicable taxes and checkout are handled by Polar.
If a membership ends, existing pages remain available to read and delete. Inpages does not remove a journal simply because a renewal stops. You can return to the pricing page when you want to write again.
A price should support the kind of product it belongs to
Inpages is not designed around ads, an endless feed, or pressure to visit every day. It is designed for writing that may matter years from now. The membership model follows the same idea: a small, clear yearly choice for the basic journal, and a larger plan for people who need more room.
Before choosing any private journal, it is worth asking how it protects your writing, how you can take your pages with you, and what happens when payment ends. Our guide to choosing a private journaling app offers a practical checklist.
